Mindfulness of Thoughts #5: What Thoughts do You Believe?

Today, I will examine the ways in which thoughts cause suffering. First, we will examine the unreal, not true and insignificance of thoughts. Next we will reflect on our own thought habits – what thoughts do you believe?
As human beings I don’t think we ever get to a point where sticky thoughts or divisive thoughts don’t arise. What shifts is the gap between the thought and the seeing through it. With investigation, the gap gets smaller and smaller, until it is so small that it seems to be absent. At this point, we simply do not believe that the next thought we have to be real, true or significant. This experience can be called freedom or liberation.
